Following its outings to Liverpool’s Walker Art Gallery and the Birmingham Museums, my work Hiding the Wound; Homage to Mr. Freud is now at the Highlanes Gallery in Drogheda (Ireland) as part of the Crossing Lines show. In response to Brexit and its impact both north and south of the Irish border, this exhibition is being held not only at Highlanes but also at the FE McWilliam Gallery & Studio in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. It explores ideas of dissent, dissonance, and difference in art and society.

The Highlanes opening – which I attended – was a spectacular event in an astounding space that once was a Franciscan church. Here, I met an extraordinary range of artists, writers, curators and historians. Great craíc and masses of thought-provoking discussions!

Hiding the Wound: Homage to Mr. Freud is part of the Arts Council Collection (UK) and is displayed on the right-hand side of the photo.
